“Xena: The Tenth Planet” describes the discovery of the planet (now classified as a dwarf planet) called Xena, which was later officially named Eris. It is an interesting look into the discovery and naming of objects in space, and since the article was written before the decision to classify Pluto as a dwarf planet, the article looks into the debate that went into that decision. An accompanying educator’s guide includes discussion questions and answers as well as definitions for key terms.
