The students will use several PhET simulations to learn the goals through an inquiry approach. This lab uses the simulation and lab equipment both. This is the first of a series of three labs. Students will practice discussing basic electricity relationships, analyzing the differences between real circuits and the simulated ones, building circuits from schematic drawings, using a multimeter to take readings in circuits, and providing reasoning to explain the measurements and relationships in circuits. The accompanying simulations can be found here: https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/circuit-construction-kit-ac https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/circuit-construction-kit-ac-virtual-lab and https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/circuit-construction-kit-dc
