Plenty of ink has been spilled in addressing the historical importance of President George Washington’s role in shaping the new republican government and his political legacy. Although not known as one of our country’s more eloquent rhetors, with the aid of Alexander Hamilton, Washington crafted a compelling and observant message near the end of his second term that continues to resonate today.
