“No Spring Picnic on Neptune” describes the seasons of Neptune—and how those seasons are caused, as they are on Earth, by the tilt of the planet on its axis as it orbits the sun. However, spring on Neptune is much different from spring on Earth. This article provides information that allows students to use what they know about Earth’s seasons to better understand the seasons on a distant planet. An accompanying educator’s guide includes discussion questions and answers as well as definitions for key terms.
