Inductance is typified by the behavior of a coil of wire in resisting any change of electric current through the coil. Inductance may be defined in terms of the electromotive force generated to oppose a given change in current. In this activity, students will construct a circuit and determine voltage and current. This is part 1 of this activity. The accompanying simulation can be found here: https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/circuit-construction-kit-ac
