This is a multi-activity lesson plan that explores the idea of allegory in painting, using literary allegory as a reference point. The lesson is designed for classroom use, with inquiry-based group activities in which students explore and discuss use of allegory in numerous paintings. The lesson plan is designed for two class periods, but seems like it could take more time than that (perhaps a week).
