In this laboratory experiment, students will learn how the positions of the sun, earth, and moon affect how the moon looks from the earth. Students will mirror the sun, earth, and moon’s positions by using a lamp, a Styrofoam ball, and themselves. Students will learn that the position of the three affect the phases of the moon.
