This site provides students with an interactive exploration of an animal cell. Students can explore the cell with the cell membrane intact or they can explore the cell by making the cell membrane transparent. Students can click on each organelle and see the organelle in action while the narrator gives a description of the organelle’s duty. One can also turn the animal cell into a plant cell and see the various components of the plant cell while the narrator discusses components such as the cell wall, chloroplast and vacuole.
