In “Electricity and Magnetism,” from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, students build and use an electromagnet and apply what they learn about magnetic fields to understanding the Sun’s magnetic properties. This activity includes clear photos as well as a magnetogram (magnetic map) of the Sun.
