Who Can Help Me Apply Learning Science Research to Course Development?

Every day, new insights into learning science provide vital knowledge of what students need to succeed, but how can we sift through the deluge of research and implement the best insights for learner success? It’s a daunting task that often exceeds the time and money allocated for development.

Even if a development team has the chance to read up on the existing research at the start, it’s a challenge to identify how and where that research helped when all is said and done. Yet we have an obligation to teachers, developers, and most importantly to students to use the best of learning science research to improve the educational experience for everyone.

At Wisewire, we prioritize research in all of our development efforts, and with our partnership with Learner Positioning Systems (LPS) we are able to infuse learning science research into every stage. Our products provide teachers with links to LPS and other research-informed articles and resources, making it quicker to adjust instruction to their students’ particular needs. This Grade 3 English/Language Arts playlist, for example, links to a document that thoroughly unpacks the standard, saving the teacher tons of research time. In addition to the thousands of learning objects available on Wisewire’s marketplace, Wisewire offers opportunities for partnerships to help those big projects organically incorporate learning science research.
